Our ECO FRIENDLY Practices
We would like to share with you what part we play in protecting our earth.
1. We utitlize paperboard with a high recycled content for the production of our products. Kraft and/or chipboard is our most popular recycled paperboard, also allowing for a natural presentation. Most of our products are made from 100% recycled post consumer paper products.
2. Scraps which are leftover are made into tags or our 3D flower embellishments. Any paper scraps leftover from those products are turned into pulp to make our "Seeded Paper Pods" and Molded Paper Packaging. We also recycle much of our paper used for paper bags into paper shreds or supplemental packaging to help cushion our shipments of products.
3. Our Quality Assurance Manager makes sure that all products are inspected before they go out the door to our customers. If his team should find a defect in any of the products, it goes into a "scratch and dent" bin. This allows us to offer our "scratch and dent" items at a reduced price and keeps us from tossing out and adding to landfills.
4. Many of our products are designed not only to package your products, but in addition, we strive for designs which will fit well in with decor to allow your customers to display the packaging as part of their room theme. Our Bubbling Tub Soap Boxes™ and Bubbling Tub Salts Cartons™ manufactured by our parent company Box Bliss™ are prime examples of a few of our exclusive designs which present well as bathroom decor. This allows the package to be used on a continual basis instead of being tossed in a land fill after use of the packaged product.
5. As our packaging equipment is either designed or built by our "on-call" engineer, we strive for the use of manual equipment to save on energy. Many of our boxes are run using no electric on manual but highly productive die presses. Our boxes are "hand-glued" and pressed under heavy presses which do not require electric. This saves energy and helps to ensure that a quality product is being produced since each product is handled by a person instead of an automated machine.
6. Tree Hugger Box™ manufactures only paper packaging. We do not manufacture plastic packaging. Plastic packaging requires significantly more energy to recycle and if not recycled, will make it's home in a landfill forever.
7. We make every effort to first purchase supplies or other needed items from "green friendly" companies. As more companies "go green" we are finding even more suppliers of products which we utilize on a daily basis. If your company has "gone green" and you believe that you may have products which we can use in the production of packaging, please let us know.
